Day 2 was the perfect setting for a winter festival! Not too cold, with a light dusting of snow, what more could you want?!
Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers brought a refreshing sound to the stage, with some California folk-rock and the soulfoul voice of their frontwoman, Nicki Bluhm. If you haven’t had a chance to hear this gem, check her out, you won’t be disappointed!
Highlights included a cover of Jefferson Airplane’s Somebody To Love, music from the same hometown as Nicki Bluhm, San Francisco, California. Nicki’s originial Little Too Late was also a fan favorite along with Jetplane:
If you want my love tomorrow
You better give it up today
Cause I ain’t makin any plans anymore
And I don’t know how long I’ll stay.
Frontwoman Nicki Bluhm caught my ear with her rock steady voice!
Afterwards I headed to the Jamboree stage and was surprised by the incredible jams of the Wondergrass Special! This superjam included members of Milkdrive as well as guest appearances from the washboard playing Bonnie Paine of Elephant Revival. I’ve never heard a washboard sound like a tap dancer, until now!
Firethrowers lit my way to the mainstage to close out the night. I’ve always loved a good fire show, and these guys were almost like ninjas with fire!
Greensky Bluegrass was joined by Sam Bush to finish out the night at the main stage. From pickin’ string to Howling at the Moon, these guys sure knew how to get the crowd rowdy and groovin’.
