2016 Telluride Blues Challenge
Calling all musicians, play your way to the Main Stage! Blues & Brews has partnered with the Telluride Music Company, the Telluride Blues Society and the Colorado Blues Society to present the 2016 Telluride Blues Challenge. The Telluride Blues Challenge provides talented musicians from the blues genre with the opportunity to advance their career. The top six entries will be invited to play at the festival’s Telluride Blues Challenge at Telluride’s Elks Lodge on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.
The Blues Stage
The Blues Stage is our second festival stage. This indoor stage is located in the Town Park Hanley Pavilion adjacent to the main festival stage. The Blues Stage features additional musical performances and comedy sets. Enjoy comfortable, theatre-style chairs to give your legs a rest, a large dance floor and a full bar with beer, wine and cocktails all under one roof. Take our word for it, it’s about as good as it gets! Check out the full schedule!
Partnership with Music Maker Relief Foundation
Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is thrilled to partner with the Music Maker Relief Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, to contribute to their endeavors to preserve the musical traditions of the South by directly supporting the musicians who make it, ensuring their voices will not be silenced by poverty and time. Music Maker will give future generations access to their heritage through documentation and performance programs that build knowledge and appreciation of America’s musical traditions.
The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band ft. Rick Vito
Considered one of the more colorful characters in rock and roll, Mick Fleetwood‘s drumming is known for its unshakable beat and ability to ground whatever musical personalities swirl around him onstage. In the beginning, it was all about the blues. Founding member and drummer of Fleetwood Mac, Mick is bringing it back to basics with this terrific band featuring former Mac vocalist, Rick Vito (not to worry, Mac fans, you’ll also get the hits you know and love). We’re grateful this tall and elegant gentleman is keeping the roots of his musical journey alive. This will be one very special performance on Sunday, September 18th.
