My first major music festival was All Good 2011 – something about this gem in the hills of West Virginia captivated and amazed me, drew me in wanting more. The vibrant energy around festivals had me hooked, and I couldn’t stop. I began volunteering at festivals around the country, working everything from artist hospitality to festival setup, cleanup and more. I quickly realized every festival was uniquely different and wonderful in its own way, but there really wasn’t much information out describing the festivals other than what the event website provided you. I began reviewing the festivals, and playing around with photography at the same time, a long time love of mine. I wanted to capture the true essence behind each festival, and try to bring it to life online for viewers to not only enjoy but also to learn which fest might be best for them in the future!
Hailing from a small suburb of Boston, I grew up spending my summers on the ocean and my winters skiing the mountains of New Hampshire. After high school, I went on to study marketing at Clemson University in South Carolina and took every chance I could to travel and explore the amazing world around us. After I graduated, I caught as many festivals as possible and eventually moved west to the beautiful state of Colorado. The beauty of the mountains and the rivers left me staggering, and the incredible music scene was ideal with festivals and concerts at some of the most beautiful venues in the world. Colorado quickly became the perfect place to call my home!
I love festivals of all sorts, but recently the true driving nature that captures me is when a festival is fighting for a better cause. Activism gives a festival a true purpose. When you can learn, you can grow, and you can help to make the world a better place – thats when you truly have the time of your life.
I’m addicted to festivals, and never recovering.
